Conservative government watchdog group Judicial Watch obtained documents that purportedly show the Internal Revenue Service fast-tracked the tax-exempt status for an “After School Satan Club” in Tacoma, Washington.
According to Judicial Watch, the “After School Satan Club” located in Point Defiance Elementary in Tacoma, Washington applied for its tax-exempt status on October 21, 2014, and received it just ten days later on October 31, 2014.
“While the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) makes conservative groups wait years for tax-exempt status an “After School Satan Club” launched to hinder Christian-based counterparts got its nonprofit ranking in just ten days,” Judicial Watch reports. “The classification is offered to charitable, religious and educational organizations that operate as nonprofits.”
“Under the Obama administration IRS political appointees illegally targeted conservative groups, either making them wait up to seven years for tax-exempt status or denying their application altogether,” Judicial Watch notes. “Judicial Watch uncovered that scandal and has obtained piles of government records showing how the IRS illegally colluded with another federal agency to single out groups with conservative-sounding terms such as patriot and Tea Party in their titles when applying for tax-exempt status.”
Last year Breitbart News reported the announcement by the Satanic Temple of Seattle, Washington, proposed the “After School Satan Club” in the Point Defiance Elementary school.
“After School Satan Clubs will focus on free inquiry, rationalism, science, and character building,” the Satanic Temple of Seattle’s website says. “All After School Satan Clubs are based upon a uniform syllabus that emphasizes a scientific, rationalist, non-superstitious world view.”
