Former United States President George H.W. Bush was laid to rest in a state funeral in Washington D.C. on Wednesday.
His son, former U.S. President George W. Bush gave a touching eulogy and broke into sobs as he referred to him as, “The best father a son can have.”
Current United States President Donald J. Trump in attendance, as was former U.S. president Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and Jimmy Carter.
Trump and all of the other former presidents sat together in the front row with their wives, displaying a form a unity in a time when partisan politics are currently gripping Washington.
Prince Charles was also present at the ceremony, as was former U.S. politicians Henry Kissinger and James Baker.
All of those who spoke at the funeral remembered Bush as gentleman, family man, and fellow statesman.
After the emotional service, Bush’s casket moved to Joint Base Andrews to be transported aboard Air Force One.
He was flown to Texas where he is set to be buried on Thursday at the Bush Presidential Library at A&M University.
